older traveller + Forum/Palatine terrain

My father can walk a fair distance on level ground but uneven steps and steep surfaces wear him out quickly. How rough is the archaeological park compared with a normal city walk?

free Sunday: can I reserve or is it first come?

Planning the first Sunday. I cannot find a booking slot. Is that because free-Sunday tickets are not reservable and you physically collect them in order of arrival?

Arch of Constantine without buying a ticket?

Very short stop near the Colosseum at sunset, no time for the archaeological park. Can I see the Arch of Constantine/Meta Sudans area without any ticket, or is that inside paid access?

under 18 free, but premium area still needs booking?

Teenager is 16 so entry is free. If we want arena/underground/attic, do we just add a free child at checkout, or are those premium-area tickets handled separately even for free visitors?

€18 standard or €24 Full Experience Arena?

First visit. Standard €18 seems to cover the normal Colosseum plus Forum/Palatine. Full Experience Arena is €24 and lasts two days. If I am only likely to do this once, what am I actually buying for the extra €6?

Underground or Attic if I can only get one?

I can find availability for Underground+Arena OR Attic, not both. Same €24. I care about what feels different from the ordinary route: underground workings versus high views. Any simple way to choose?

30-day ticket release, when should I actually try?

Need a specific date because our accessible planning depends on it. Tickets open 30 days before the visit. Does that mean I should be on the official site exactly at the 30-day mark rather than waiting for “a month before” in a loose sense?

Domus Aurea + main archaeological park: too much?

We love archaeology, but there is a limit to how much ancient Rome our teenager will tolerate in one day. Domus Aurea is tempting because it is so different. Is it better treated as its own scheduled experience rather than another “thing inside the park”?

free Sunday or pay for premium access?

Trying to save money, but the free Sunday list of exclusions looks long. If arena/underground/upper levels/SUPER are the bits I care about, is the free day actually the wrong day for me?

Attic ticket mainly for the view?

Photography/view question. Is the Full Experience Attic route basically the panoramic choice, like lift, higher levels, city/arena views, rather than another underground/history-heavy route?

What to see

Forum + Palatine without entering Colosseum at all?

Second Rome trip. Happy to skip the amphitheatre interior this time and spend the day in Forum/Palatine. Is Forum Pass SUPER the straightforward ticket for that, with no Colosseum visit attached?

“Only Arena” means ONLY arena?

The €18 Only Arena ticket looked like a bargain because I thought it meant normal Colosseum + arena. Now I am not sure. Is the Colosseum part literally just the arena floor for about 20 minutes?

basic €18 ticket includes arena floor?

I keep seeing photos from the arena floor and assumed that was part of a normal visit. Standard 24h €18 ticket: arena floor included or no?

broadest 2-day ticket?

We genuinely have two days for ancient Rome and want coverage more than speed. Which Full Experience product gives the broad package of Colosseum + Forum/Palatine + SUPER, while adding one premium Colosseum area?

Colosseum + Forum + Palatine in one short afternoon?

We only have roughly 3½ hours from our Colosseum slot to park closing. I know the ticket includes Forum/Palatine too, but “included” is not the same as “sensible”. Is that enough for all three without running?

free Sunday: what am I NOT seeing?

If I go on free Sunday, what am I giving up versus a paid Full Experience day? I care more about the excluded areas than the €24 saving.

Underground slot = arrive 30 mins early?

Underground booking at 2:30. I saw “arrival mandatory 30 minutes before” and want to be sure that means at the relevant Colosseum check-in, not just somewhere in the park. Should I treat 2:00 as the hard arrival target?

name typo, can I change it once?

One ticket has my surname misspelled by one letter. Same traveller, not transferring it. I read there is now a one-change rule with a deadline. Can I correct this without starting over?

wheelchair access: Colosseum vs Forum/Palatine

Wheelchair user. I keep seeing “accessible” attached to the Colosseum, but the Forum/Palatine looks like a completely different problem. Can somebody separate the amphitheatre access from the wider archaeological park instead of giving me one yes/no answer?

What to see

arena or Underground for a first visit?

Family first visit, only one premium add-on likely. Arena sounds visually satisfying; Underground sounds more explanatory. If the question is “what adds something the ordinary route does not?”, how would you split them?
